Renting a house in Panama

Post new topic

Will be renting a house in Volcan.
Would it normally be done the same as here in the U.S.?
After agreeing on the monthly rate, I would be required
to pay first month's rent, last month's rent, and one month's
rent as a security deposit, which would be refundable at
termination less any damages to the property, which is
standard practice here.

I'm renting and was asked to pay the first months rent, and the equivalent for a security deposit. If I moved out in less than 6 months I would lose the security deposit. But, I think every landlord can write up any agreement  that works for both of you. Just be sure you read and understand the document before signing.

You are in St Pete, FL? We moved here from Sarasota. Small world!

Much thanks, and yes, it's a small world.

HAVE ANY PRINTED RENTAL AGREEMENT TRANSLATED TO ENGLISH!!!  I had ours translated and what it said was horrible.  Got it changed to reasonable USA style agreement by our local attorney and the renter was glad to agree.  DO NOT sign anything before an English translation.
