Hi there...my Dad (70) is living in Benalmadena, Pueblo and is looking for an adult beginners Spanish class, preferably a smaller class, once or twice a week with other people living in the area...does anyone have any suggestions please? (He doesn't speak any Spanish at all so it absolute beginner).

Having lived in Spain 30 years I have known a lot of people who have started to learn Spanish,  I know very few who have achieved any worthwhile level

In my opinion to really learn one needs to spend almost all of every day studying for several months.  That is what I did when I was 57  and then I got a Spanish GF who could not speak any English.  Soon after that I started a voluntary translator group with the police in Arroyo de la Miel. That was 20 years ago.

I still work with the police but even now I would not claim to have anything approaching fluency.

So good luck to anyone doing a few hours a week.
