Hey I am moving to Malta, and I would like to rent a bedroom before I arrive there. If the landlord and I sign a contract is it automatically legal/valid?

You need to be here so you can decide which area suits you, also you may find the accommodation you have chosen could be a disappointment so it's best to view before agreeing.

book into a cheap hotel for a few days

contracts dont really mean much in malta.... as you will find out over time... its more important to find a nice location where you want to live . a good landlord (a tad harder but they are out there) and a nice property to live in that is worth the money being asked.

the days of cheap rooms are dead and gone
