Hello all,

Just wondering of anyone knows where to get a UK Style Doner Kebab in Malta?
You know the type of thin sliced smooth meat and freshly made chilli sauce with pickled red and white cabbage etc?

Also can you buy sausage rolls? Cheese pasties? Fresh Cream Chocolate eclairs? Apple slices? Stotties or something similar? British Sausages and British style (Danish Bacon)
where can you buy those from if you can buy them?

Does the Marks and Spencers in Malta sell food or just clothes?

Looking forward to trying Maltese crusine also :)

Marks and Spencer do sell food, Scotts supermarket have a lot of British food, what you can't get you manage without or try an alternative.

Do you want a fish and chip shop as well?

You can get most British stuff at one place or another.  If you can't get it fresh, you can get it frozen. There's plenty of British style kebabs in Bugibba, I've not found a good one worth going back for yet though.

British style Danish bacon? I assume you mean back bacon which you can get here,  we get ours from Lidl.  The whole point of moving abroad is for a different way of life and to try new things not to expect
another England, like Sam said with fish and chips and English restaurants, if this is what you want you would probably be better off going to Spain.  We do have restaurants doing Sunday roast  here on Gozo but have never tried them as it's something you can easily do at home.

Look out for the 'sofra' chain of kebab houses. There are 2 in buggibba and also 1 in sliema, they are Turkish style and are excellent. They are far superior and cheaper than anything you will find in England, you can also choose from a good selection of salads, dips and sauces, on piled up on your plate if you want to eat in. You can also grab a beer or soft drink as well.
