Wedding Registry

My name is Marissa and my fiance is Valencian.  I'm moving to Valencia in less than a month and then our wedding will be in the states next year. (June 2012) We're trying to figure out the best way to register for our wedding because friends and family have already asked us how to buy gifts.  We're worried that by registering in the states we'll have to ship back a lot of gifts which will be very costly and some things like china might break.  Many of the American registries do not allow shipping overseas. However, registering with a store like Corte Ingles is not functional for our non-spanish speaking friends and family. Money would be the easiest solution but it would be rude and tacky to ask for only money for our wedding. Any suggestions?

Hi
When we got married we asked for foreign currency to help toward the cost if the honeymoon.  In today's economic climate asking for money is not surprising. If you tell them what you told us I'm sure they would be happy to go with your wishes

Congratulations
