Hi
I am moving to Athens as I have a new job as a teacher there, with my husband and 16 year old daughter and was wondering if anyone could advise me where to rent.   The school is in the south of Athens and we were told to go to the Glyfada area, what are your thoughts? Is this a nice place? and secure?  What is rent like here and job opportunities for my husband.

Hi,its great that you found a job here but what will your daughter and husband do,jobs are very few and far between, perhaps your daughter needs to continue studies?Your husband..what job?too difficult here for work.Glyfada area is very nice but rents are still expensive there as always. Will you be getting state medical cover in your job and will it cover your child at least? There are cheaper areas than Glyfada, food and clothes will be expensive there, the supermarkets bump up the prices for the well-off folks who live there. There are many expats to meet but can you afford a big rent?
