logistical questions

Salut,
My family and I are planning a move to Bordeaux this summer.  My husband is French and will be working in France again after being in the States for 20+ years.  We have a 7 year old child.  My French language skills are basic at this point and I am trying to get logistical information to help plan our move without having to rely only on my husband and the French Consulate (since I cannot understand many of the details and having to call, wait, get recordings, etc).  Does anyone on this blog have experience with moving back to France with a French spouse?  I need to get info regarding health care (when or if we can discontinue our private coverage) and education for our child are the burning issues of the moment, but , of course there will be more!  We have housing and employment worked out at least, but although I am super excited, I cannot help but feel like I am jumping blindly at this point.
Thanks for any suggestions.

No experience (yet), but I have been collecting some contact info for (much) later.
In Montpellier, try: http://www.moving-to-montpellier.com/
In Paris, try: http://www.jeantaquet.com/
Please post back your results, especially re health care for a French citizen who hasn't worked in France for 20+ years (or even ever) - I'm interested in this too.
thanks!
Julie
