Average salary architect

Post new topic

Hi everybody,

I am considering to move to Denmark to work as an architect with two years of professional experience but I would like to have some ideas about work conditions.
Could someone tell me what is the average salary in Denmark? Are extra hours common? I read some bad feedbacks from the young well-known danish architecture firm in New York.

Thank you in advance

Nellie Berg

The statistics here is from 2015.

I don't know how the rate of unemployment is at the moment.  I can see that a couple of years ago, Danish architects went to Norway or Sweden to find a job. Architects have always had an overreprensation in the unemployment statistics, especially when it is about newly-educated candidates. I see that you have some experience which will make a positive difference.

I know the working culture in Anglo-Saxon countries include long working days, but in DK, a 37 hours' working week is normal.

What about asking the union (faod) for information. They might be helpful even if you aren't a member (now).
