Hello everyone,

Were your professional qualifications recognised in Malaysia? What country did you complete your qualifications in? What profession are you in?

Did you have to go through any formalities to get your qualifications recognised, such as to have them translated?

If your qualifications weren't recognised, were there any additional tests or exams you had to complete before you were able to practice your profession in Malaysia or continue with your studies?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Well now industry looks at knowledge more than education, I am a college dropout and working at decent post in a Broadcasting media company in Malaysia .. it's only when you are a fresh new graduate then people can only judge you by your marks and studies .

Yes, I have professional qualifications from the UK. They are recognised globally so Malaysia was not an issue.

Hi,
For teaching in colleges here they are asking PhD.
I have only msc .cse.
I have to do PhD here in any Malaysia n University to do my professional career or continue my education.
I am in need of job at present and ready to do anything like daycare or cooking or house hold work or any.
I have my Canada Wes reports with me with Canada approved.
I have IELTS score also with 5.50.

Mine is from Australia, so I guess there is no problem too, but my job is about portfolio not qualification.

hello Priscilla
My qualification that was attained in Pakistan in the field of engineering is recognized in Malaysia. In fact, the medium of instruction in Pakistan for engineering is English similar to Malaysia and recognization Council of Pakistan " Pakistan Engineering Council" is also recognized in Malaysia. So, I didn't have any issue to continue my Ph.D. and subsequent job in Malaysia.

Hi,

It depends what exactly your requirements are. There are many professional qualifications  like medicine, law, accounting, engineering, education etc. Each one is governed by its own set of rules interms of employment or practice. As a thumb rule, for expats practicing in any of the profession. Is barred but employment is subjective.
