Maternity leave in Mauritius

Post new topic

TravelGirl32

Hello from Austria!

Iam planning to move to Mauritius next year. My finace is local and I want to be prepared as much as I can for the big step. And Iam already super excited. ;-)

Iam seachring for some information about maternity leave in Mauritius. As far as I know its quite different than in Europe and especially Austria.

Does anyone has more details for how long you can stay back home and if you get any support or child benefit?

Thank you and Iam looking forward to get some hints about that topic.

All the best

Daniela

Hi Daniela,

the maternity leave is 14 weeks ; fully paid by your employer, but you must complete at least 12 months in the company

Hope this helps,

Julien

Hi Julien,

Is there any maternity/child allowance the mother gets? Also, is there any special clause/additional leaves etc for multiple pregnancy?

Thanks,
Shweta

You have part of your answers in Julien's response in post #2. You have to have worked for 12 months.
As a holder of an OP , I doubt that you will be entitled to child allowance since it falls under the Social Security Program , that is , only poor families do receive such allowances

Also, is there any special clause/additional leaves etc for multiple pregnancy?

Thanks,
Shweta
