What to expect when moving to Portugal

Hello everyone,

Is there anything you wish you had known before moving to Portugal? For example, transportation, internet speeds, types of housing, aspects of the culture or social life.

In your opinion, what's the most important thing to know about Portugal?

When would you recommend someone should begin planning their move to Portugal?

What were the most helpful ways you found to get organised? For example, did you use a checklist, were there any particularly useful websites or apps?

What advice would you give to future expats preparing to move to Portugal?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

I am living in Porto about last 5 years. Here are my comments:

transportation: very good, lots of busses, metro lines, etc. I dont have driver licence and never had a real problem.

internet speeds: portugal has one of the best internet speeds I have seen around europe. I am paying 35 Euros monthly for 60 GB internet connection plus hundreds of channels on TV

types of housing: I would say prices are average. not super high not very low.

aspects of the culture or social life: I am a housebird so I cant comment much on this, HOWEVER, most portuguese cities are pretty alive most of the day.

I wish I knew how easy is to import a bunch of guns in a sea container as household goods, I could have brought my air gun to the Azores. Now I have to buy one.
