Things to do with babies and children

Just moved to aix les bains from the uk with my husband and two children aged 5 and 8 months. My daughter has started the local school, struggling with things to do for 8 month old. Would norm go to mother and baby groups at home, messy play, soft play but can't seem to find the same groups here. Any advice?

Can you ask at your marie about crèches ? Or, I've seen something called kangaroo, that seems to take care of infants/small children.

Thanks for replying, I've seen some crèches but it was more mother and baby groups so I can also meet some mums get me out the house too :-)
