Traffic in Tanzania

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello everyone,

Which city or area do you live in in Tanzania, and how do you find the traffic?

How long does it take to commute to work or run errands?

Is there a rush hour in your city? What times of the day would you recommend people to avoid driving if they can?

Are there any ways to avoid spending too much time in traffic in Tanzania?

What is parking availability and cost like?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Priscila,

Traffic jams are there just like in many cities in the world.
If  I had known where to compare with , I would have told you.
Depending on your daily route/ road , there are some places which have traffic jams  and some have none.
But to be on the safe side, always try to avoid  peak hours i.e. when people are going to work or coming home.
The good thing is the traffic police are always there to control the ques.
But if you will be staying in areas with  speed buses then you will never have such a big headache,

I live in Njiro in  Arusha Tanzania

Traffic between Arusha town and Njiro  very moderate compared to Dar Es Salaam

The new road through Uzunguni (Tanzania Breweries) has much less traffic at peak times
