Post new topic

EricnJo

Hi,
we're new to this forum and I'm probably going to ask a few questions that have been asked on this forum previously....
OK

I'm an Electrician, my wife is a Hairdresser, 2 boys 12,10.
Firstly;
An info' on good private schools.
Secondly;
Will I find work as a Sparky ?
Thirdly;
Where is a good place to live, which area do you think we should look at? (a bit vauge I know).

I'd appreciate any reply.

Oh can any one tell me warts and all what it's really like?
Thanks.

Hi Eric,

I also welcome you to the forum.

Job wise I would think your chances as an electrician are better than for hairdressing. There are hairdressers on every corner here in Malta.

But expect a Maltese salary and speaking Maltese might be an issue. This, in connection with paying for 2 kids at private school makes me think  ....hmmmm. But if your are highly qualified with all the right certificates you might be able to get a much better paid job on one of the ongoing big building projects.

There are very good posts on schooling on the forum from the past. Nothing much that could be added to those info's.

I wish you luck with your plans.

Thanks Ricky,
As for the School fees we are in a situation of being left a sum of money which "we want to put to go use".

Is there a good newspaper that carries job adverts/placements etc ?

We'll be over in Golden Bay in April, might just use that time to work a few things out.

Try the Times of Malta at www.timesofmalta.com .

You can get the classified ads online for free, though not the display ads.

You might also be interested in the official government job site - www.etc.gov.mt .
