Need 6 week rental in Sihanoukville of 1 - 2 bed house or apartment

My wife and I from Australia, will be visiting Sihanoukville late April - May (final dates to be determined) to get a feel for the area as a place for us to move to and live. We are early & late 60’s.
We will stay for 6 weeks and want to know if it is possible to rent a 1 or 2 bedroom, small
House or apartment for that period with a budget of A$800 - A$1000 pm (ie A$200-250pw).
We would prefer to be in a ‘safe’ area. The accomodation would have to have reasonable
Furnishings, cooking facilities, H&C water to bathroom & kitchen etc
Any advice would be appreciated . Thank you.  :)

Hello Alpha 49.

It is surely possible to rent accommodation for the budget you mention.

Right now there is a move in town from "evicted" renters with no valid contract, that are looking for rooms/apartments. But in 3 months time it will be quiet again on the rental market and on top the high season for tourists will be over so less people searching for accommodation.

By that time just have a look at various sites that offer accommodation, there is also a housing section here on the Sihanoukville forum.

Good luck and enjoy your stay.
