My husband and I are planning to move to New Jersey in a couple of months.  My eldest son is in Year 12 (UK education system) so he is in his first year of A-levels.  He really wants to move to New Jersey with us but we are struggling to find a school that he can study A-levels in.  Do you have any tips, ideas how we can make this work?  Have you been in a similar situation?    Thank you for your help.

You can check into so called international schools which will mean tuition and potential boarding; have him stay with family and finish in the UK;  transfer him to US HS. Can he take the UK exams independently as US or home schooled?

Hope you got this sorted out but if not genres my two penneth.

In the US, the equivalent or as close as, are AP courses. The difference is they are 1 year long not two.  UK universities do accept them.

Since 11th and 12th are big years here for school you might want to consider him starting in 11th and taking an extra year.  Its common here for kids to get held back for many reasons.
Happy to help with any other questions Brit in NJ for 12 years.
