My Belgian husband recently changed jobs.My question is do we have to wait a year for pay slips to apply for reunion visa or we can apply immediately. Anybody here with similar experience can guide me. He has been in his last job for almost 4 years.

Also he has been staying with his parents at their own house for ever.Is it necessary for him to rent a place for both of us, when i can move in to their parents house???

What you need to show is consistent income (of your spouse), which can be achieved by the below documents I presume.

1. Annual income statement of 2017
2. All available payslips from 2018 from the old job
3. Employment contract for the new job
4. At least 3 payslips from the new job.
5. A cover letter clearly mentioning the situation (that job was changed and if there was a gab between the two jobs, explain that, etc)

Additionally, while the file is being processed, your spouse will get more payslips, which can be sent to DOFi by email by the time the file reaches them.

This is what I think :)

I m not sure how anyone can answer the question unless we work for a Belgian visa issuing service. You need to ask the visa officer these questions.

Hi currylover,

If you may know, Belgian immigration is the most un co operative department i have dealt with.

If in case they were so clear in their communications done with me, i surely would not have fed myself with the luxury of stress and confusion and unreliability which me and my husband who is also a belgian citizen by birth is going through.

Anyways if you want more details if anyways should be your first query to me instead of attacking me with not so obvious advice, i had written to them more then 3 times i believe and all they come up to me with is the link to their dofi website where the rules are so generalised.

Hope i have made myself very clear.

Thanls

Thanks Aneesh

Thats what i thought of, but we can never be sure right of such situations.

On the other question:
>> Also he has been staying with his parents at their own house for ever.Is it necessary for him to rent a place for both of us, when i can move in to their parents house???

Your file becomes more solid if your spouse has a rented accommodation on his own. But if he is living in a family house and if the house has space to accommodate you, a letter from the house owner (his parents?) clearly stating that they allow you to live there rent-free, must do. I dont know if there exists a format for such a letter.

Hope this helps.
