Hi all,

thanks in advance for any help. I have accepted a job in Kuwait this morning and the last thing I have to do is get a PCC. I have started the process in that i have received my disclosure Scotland and it is currently away back to them to get signed and verified. Then, i believe, that i have to get an Apostille which i have figured out. Can someone advise me what i do next. I called the embassy this morning and they said that once i get it stamped by the foreign office i can send it to them in the post. Cost is £15 and i need to enclose a self return envelope. Unfortunately there was definitely a communication barrier that i could not break down with my Scottish accent lol.

So my questions.

Is the apostille the Foreign office stamp?
Do i just enclose the document with 15 cash and the envelope with maybe a covering letter?
Is that it or do i require anything else to be sent like copy of my passport or anything?

I have scoured the internet but cannot seem to find concise information of how to attain one from the UK.
thanks
M.

Hello,

Mate it's a painfully process.

I just finished all that stuff.

You need your police clearance certificate which must be attested by the Kuwait Embassy in London.

The company I am joining also requested a medical certificate which also must be attested by the Kuwait Embassy in London. So check if you need that as it's easier to send both police clearance and medical certificates to be attested at the same time.

I did my medical in Glasgow at a clinic called Bryden Medical. Very straight forward but expensive. However I got it attested no fuss so obviously the Kuwait Embassy know them well.

I used an agency to send them to the Kuwait Embassy. That took about a week.

Good luck,
Dave

Dave,

Thanks for the response.

I have my medical which I did at the same place. That has been submitted and accepted. The company are only asking for my PCC now. Like i said i just don't know how to get the Disclosure Scotland turned into PCC if that makes sense. I believe that all I need to do is send it to Kuwait Embassy once it has Apostille which i can get after it is signed and verified by issuer.  Its the how to pay and what other documentation that goes with it that i do not know. Can you let me know what agency you used please? May be best just to let someone with the experience do it. Talking to the Embassy this morning they implied all i had to do was get it stamped by the foreign office and send it in with a letter but I am just no wanting to do this in case i picked it up incorrectly. Also, is the apostille the foreign office stamp she was talking about. I think it is but not wanting to get anything wrong.....
TIA

Hi

I'm guessing the Disclosure Scotland is the same as a Police Clearance Certificate in the UK.
If not I applied for mine through www.acro.police.uk/Police

I then used an agency called vital@vitalcertificates.co.uk who send it to be attested.

It took about a week to get both my PCC and Medical returned.

I get what you mean about not wanting to make a mistake.
No one seems to real know what to do.

My experience was doing it from a mixture of Dubai and the UK so please double check even what I'm saying.

If you are in Scotland you use DS, otherwise you use ACRO. The document from DS is the PCC. The FCO will attach a paper behind the PCC called the "Apostille". Send that and the money to Kuwait Embassy, they will attach their own stamp to the apostille and that is your legalized document ready for use in Kuwait. Better to use SD both ways.

Attach a cover letter telling them what you want them to do e.g Legalisation/Stamping of Enclosed PCC
