Coffee to the UK

Post new topic

blunders

Hello

Want to send some boxes of the 2-in-1, 3-in-1 and ground coffee beans to relatives in the UK.

All Trung Nguyen products. Boxed and bagged. Each one would be about 350 grammes. Four separate consignments to different people.

Does anyone know the best way to send it?

Looking for an economical and relatively hassle free method.

Any guidance appreciated

Thanks

eodmatt

Post it. Expect both Royal Mail and Parcel post delivery drivers to try to steal it in UK. I have sent a number of boxes of coffee to UK by post from Saigon -  and a leather wallet from Mazar i Sharif in afghastlystan (by TNT courier) on every occasion there has been a problem with failed delivery or attempted theft in UK. So send the packages by registered mail and get a tracking number, then track them all the way.

Hi Eodmatt - Do you know if coffee can clear UK customs if you bring it with you from Vietnam? If YES, Do you know if there is a limit on how much you can bring into the UK (I.e. weight)?

Cheers

THIGV

I doubt that there is a tariff as most countries (with the possible exception of a few like Vietnam) impose tariffs only on products that they produce.  Aside from possibly Devon or Cornwall, it is doubtful that coffee trees could even survive in Britain.

None of the packets of coffee (max 500 grams each) that I sent so far to uk from here by post were bothered by customs. Likewise a couple of 500 gram packets of coffee in my baggage haven’t excited the customs in uk when I have arrived there on several occasions  in the past.
