@Mizanurdonia ah ok that's nice to meet you bro. Which city are you living in Morocco. Me I'm living in Ain atigg city near Temara.
I live in essaouira
@Mizanurdonia Hi, if indian embassay in rabat does not provide us capacity of marriage certificate then where will we get the certificate from?
I am an indian citizen living in UK
@Mizanurdonia Hi, if indian embassay in rabat does not provide us capacity of marriage certificate then where will we get this from? I am an indian citizen living in UK
@Benson Harrison Indian embassy in Rabat won't give you capacity of marriage certificate you have to get it from the Indian embassy in UK or you can get it done from India authorizing any of your relatives and get it couriered to you
@armanpak Thank you so much!
My fiancee sent me the list of documents and i had few doubts about others documents too.
One of documents is certificate of nationality which I believe indian embassy will provide me in rabbat as I read above.
Another document is residence certificate. I am not a resident of indian from Sep 2021, so do I just have to provide my british resident card?
Also "updated birth certificate"? does it mean original birth certificate?
I have attached the list of image for reference. https://imgur.com/a/WdHSwo2
@Benson Harrison your passport have informations about your birth and country Please note the documents you will need you need a capacity of marriage or bachelorhood certificate, you need PCC, the embassy of india in Rabat will give you nationality cum birth certificate in French you will need to submit your income proof all documents that you will bring with you must be apostilled that's it you are set
@armanpak Thank you again.
For apostilled. Does it have to be stamped by indian embassy in UK? or can I get it stamped from any authorised notary in UK?
I think if my documents are indian, i would need a notary from india or just uk notary would be enough?
If I will get my certificate of nationality from indian embassy in rabat, they will apostile it in the embassy itself?
Sorry i am very confused with this process
@Benson Harrison only the ministry of external affairs of India can make apostille of documents notary and apostille are both different things any documents that you will take from Morocco does not need any apostilazation I am sorry to inform you about one document that you will need to take from the ministry of justice in Rabat it will take only two hours the birth cum nationality certificate in French from the embassy of india in Rabat has to be stamped by the of the ministry of external affairs of Morocco which is in Rabat walking distance from the ministry of justice
@armanpak Will the ministry of external affairs for india in UK do apostille of my income proof too?
@Benson Harrison no need to
Make apostille for income proof apostilazation is only required for capacity of marriage certificate and pcc
@Mizanurdonia jazakAllah khair brother. How long does pcc take to get issued? 1 month?
Normally in India it takes 7 days but I think it will not take much time even if you apply through Indian embassy in UK I have friends from Canada and Europe who got it easy through Indian embassy
@Mizanurdonia Thanks again!
Sorry one more question brother. Do we apostille the original documents or photocopies? I am not sure about this
Only original of capacity of marriage certificate and pcc needs to be apostilled
@Mizanurdonia Thanks
Would love if you can also tell us about your process. Which court you went for approval for marriage and other things, how long it took to do all process etc..?
I have read on this forum that it takes 10 days at least to do the whole process
After you prepare all the documents you need to submit all the papers to the court of first instance which is in every city it's better to consult an adul or submit the papers through the adul after you submit all the papers to the court the judge will verify all the documents and give an envelope for both you and your fiance you need to visit the nearest police station ( nearest to your hotel or any place you are staying) it's going to be like a interview be prepared to answer some absurd questions by officer who will be interviewing you after the interview is over you will get call from the court to take acceptenc of marriage from the family court with this acceptance you can take appointment with the adul, the adul will write the act of your marriage in the presence of two witnesses from both sides take someone who speak English to translate you the act of marriage as it will be in Arabic do not accept for any paid translators as they will charge heavy you can take help of Google translate ( which I did) once the act is written and you read it and understood what is written in the act you have to make your signature along with the your fiance and witnesses and you are married 😍😍
After a week you can visit the court and take your marriage certificate stamped and signed by the judge
@Mizanurdonia Thank you so much brother. Can you tell me how long it took for your process? I need an estimate because I have to take holidays from work.
I have also read on this website: [link moderated]
That we need to legalise all documents from Moroccan Ministry of Interior, Rabbat before translation to arabic? After translation only I can submit them to court I think?
Also for birth cum nationality certificate from Indian ministry of external affairs, do I need appointment or I can just walk in embassy early morning?
There is mokata in every city so you can legalize all the papers they charge 2 dirhams for every documents the marriage process may take three weeks to one month better to come with time of one month
@Mizanurdonia Thanks again brother!
Again just a repeat of last question. Do I need appointment from Indian ministry of external affairs in rabbat for birth cum nationality certificate OR I can just walk in?
You can walk in any time during working hours but it's better to reach Sharp 9 am if you want to get it same day, prepare a letter with you before you visit the embassy in the letter write the reason why you want to take a nationality cum birth certificate and submit it along with copy of your passport they will give you a slip to make a payment of 30 or 50 dirhams at bank of Africa which is with 300 metres of the embassy they will ask you to come after lunch hours and collect it
@GuestPoster2236 Indian embassy in Rabat won't give you capacity of marriage certificate you have to get it from the Indian embassy in UK
Indian Citizens who have contacted us for help with this are having the same issue. The reason embassies don't provide this certificate is because it doesn't exist in India.
We contacted the Indian Embassy of Morocco and what they told us was:
The Indian Embassy provides the following guidance on how to obtain a certificate of single status through the local court in India.
The only solution to obtain an official document proving you are single is to initiate a civil lawsuit / make an affidavit before the 1st class Judicial Magistrate in the appropriate civil court to declare oneself as unmarried. Only the magistrate has the authority to issue such a declaration in India.
To receive assistance with this matter, it is advisable to get in touch with a lawyer in India.
The certificate issued by the court must be apostille in India by Consular, Passport and Visa Division (CPV) of the Ministry of External Affairs New Delhi (RPOs) and Branch Secretariats of Ministry of External Affairs are also empowered to attest these documents.
You must consult with a lawyer in India and/or an adoul or the family court in Morocco for further guidance in this matter.
..
And when we did contact an adoul in Morocco with this question he actually replied to us with, "why don't they issue this certificate?" 😂 and was not understanding that India don't issue this.
I wish you good luck! It's a process.
@Mizanurdonia Hi brother
capacity of marriage certificate is confusing. Do I just download the pdf from Indian ministry of external affairs, rabbat website and then get it apostilled from indian embassy in UK? will that be enough?
Capacity of marriage or singlehood certificate is a declaration / affidavit for an Indian it must have to be done infront of the first class magistrate it can be done without your presence also
@Mizanurdoniahttps://indianembassyrabat.gov.in/pdf/M … oforma.pdf
This one right?? Does apostille work for this?
Yes this is the correct format it has to be printed on a non judicial stamp paper of rs 100 and stamp signed by the first class magistrate and then you can get it aoo
@Mizanurdonia brother i live in United Kingdom. I am thinking how it will be possible for non judicial stamp here
will indian ministry of external affairs help?
Please understand that no place in the world will issue you a bachelorhood certificate except for the country you hold passport you can talk to any good layer and get it done I have some friends from Canada who got it done through their relatives and friends
@Mizanurdonia Hi brother. I have collected all documents but for capacity of marriage, the regional office of ministry external affairs for apostille is refusing to apostille as the document is a self drafted sworn affidavit. They said that this is not a proof for bachelorhood. Any idea how i can do it?
@Benson Harrison you have to get it done in India through any of your relative the affidavit has to be drafted on a non judicial stamp paper and needs to be verified and signed by a first class magistrate and after that it can be apostilled at the ministry of external affairs office in any city in India
@Mizanurdonia Thank you brother.
Regarding birth and nationality certificate, we can get this from indian ministry in rabbat? I want to confirm this because
my fiance called the embassy and they informed to get all documents from india?
@Benson Harrison all the embassies in the world like to confuse people you can walk in straight to the embassy with a letter mentioning why you need this birth cum nationality certificate in French and they will issue you
@Mizanurdonia I appreciate your help! thank you.
