Post new topic

Hi All,

I am posting again for information. I have been offered accomodation with my job and it will be in one of two places Amwaj Island or Busaiteen. Can any one that lives there tell me about them or share some photos??

Thanks,

Mary

Hello Marykaren,

As far as my way of seeing things is concerned, the first question would be : where will you work ?
Because Bousaiteen and Amwaj are both in or close to Muharraq island and if you work in the same island you could pick any of them, but if you have to go for instance to A'Ali, Bousaiteen will save you a lot of time in the traffic !

On this website, you can select the area and check the offers available. You will be able to see the kind of accomodation available : http://www.bahrainpropertyworld.com/
Busaiteen is a village in West Muharraq (Muharraq being an island at the North-East of Bahrain). You will find local as expatriates there.
Amwaj Islands is a land reclaimed over the sea. It's brand new (some parts are still under construction). It's a very "restricted" community (means mostly western expats). The flats and villa are very modern and nice.
So I guess it depense on what you like :D
Here is a site to have an insight of amwaj : http://www.amwaj.bh/gallery.asp

Personnaly, I don't like Amwaj at all... Too artificial, too new, too empty, too restricted. There is nothing genuine there and this is not the idea I have of living in a foreign country. Nevertheless, some of my friends are very happy there, doing a lot of kyte-surf and all. So again, I guess it's really a matter of likes and dislikes and you're the only one to know what will be OK for you and your kids :D

Hope this was helpfull

Yours, friendly

Olivier
