Families Learning About Good Health in Church

Post new topic

Should teaching and training families about good health be taught in church? From the water we drink to the food we eat, are we getting the daily nutrition we need? It might serve churches well to offer health and wellness as part of thier auxilary teaching.

Welcome on Expat.com cederey ;)

We can learn everywhere and why not in a religious place! I personally think it is a good learning initiative and churches could consider it specially when it deals with health issue & eating habit.

Yud,

You are so right. We are more than just spiritual people. Our physical bodies and our minds need nourishment just like our spirits do.  Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

if the church can prove that they have professional experts on nutrition and they don't try to brainwash the participants, why not?

I personally think it is a great idea to teach good health in churches (especially Ghana). I am no expert on good health and nutrition (though healthy lifestyle is a big hobby of mine so i know more than the average person) but i read a lot about this topic. A lot of times people are naive about this topic.  A good percentage of the ghanaian population go to church so it is a good place to start. So far as people are not brainwashed, (like what Metecem noted above)manipulated or the church itself use this for some sort self interest (business).
