Good afternoon sun-lovers

Hi People.

I stumbled across this forum whilst looking for up to date info on Mauritius, as I've not been there since the millenium, although up until then I was there pretty much every year for a few weeks.

From the end of 2012, I'll be moving back. Although technically not an "ex pat" as I was born there, one of my parents is from there, and I've a stack of relatives living there, mostly in the interior and the north east

I'll be spending half the year here in the UK, and half the year over there, living in Bel Ombre, so roll on 2012!!!!

Looking forward to boring you all with pointless questions that you've no doubt heard many times before..)))

Thanks Yud.  Common sense should tell me that it's still to far ahead to be asking questions now...  Unfortunately I'm not burdened by common sense..))  So no doubt I'll be firing questions off as they come to me...

I think, being a bit of a petrolhead, the first question qwould be about importing a car, like does that "returning citizen" tax allowance on importing a car still exist...?  I'll find the right thread for it later on at some point.

If the weather carries on like this I might have to rethink moving to Mauritius myself ;)

its not too bad here at the moment is it? I'm currently sat outside with a crafty rum, thinking how typical it is that now I've decided to get myself back to the motherland, the weather here picks up...

yep. Although the chances of getting 3ft of snow in Grand Bay are low I reckon so I'm still up for it :)

I'm willing to sacrifice my snowboarding addiction and replace it with kitesurfing. Thats just how much of a saint I am......
