Shipping a caravan to Morocco.

Post new topic

baijad

Anyone know about exporting a caravan? I have a 1995 4 berth caravan.  What would I have to pay after 6 months to keep it in Morocco?

Cathylesher

Word of wisdom. Be very careful who you ship with.

I am now trying to locate  my paid shipment of persinal property from the US as the company I have deakt with for 6
months is no longer corresponding with me.

I am one  unhappy expat

baijad

So sorry to hear that, how long has it been missing?

Cathylesher

Can't get any answers as to the status. Worked with this company since August and now nothing.
I am going crazy trying to get replies
Whole new staff and no answers to my emails or phone messages now

Welcome to real MOROCCO.

Cathylesher

it is a US company not a Moroccan one.

Cathylesher

traveller051216

Hope you get it sorted 👍🏼

Cathylesher

At least it is being worked on now

baijad

Cathylesher

Papers are in French upon arrival

baijad

Hi. Any progress? I'm still negotiating and getting quotes for my caravan. The last mover I spoke to said it would travel on three ships, take about 63 days, and I could track it. Sounds promising. Good luck.

Cathylesher

Good luck. Nothing yet on this end

baijad

How's it going Cathy? Any news? If not was it insured?

Cathylesher

Ok.
Finally found my shipment. It is in storage in New Jersey.  I am in contact with the CEO of a affiliated company in Isreal. He has been helping me. Plus now the Washington DC office of Maritime Disputes and Resolutions have stepped in to help too. Yes the US company is shutting down.  At least I have help now.

baijad

Great news. Hope nothing is missing.

baijad

That's wonderful news.

Dizzl

you mean a caravan towed by a vehicle? this might fall under the category as a trailer, which would be considered as a vehicle, and would need to follow the same rules and regulations as a standard vehicle. Morocco wouldn't want you living there any paying nothing for accommodation ;)

you could contact a transport company in Casablanca, or contact the customs at the port to find out the legal requirements, rather than just contacting a shipping company to move it.

Thank you. I already have two quotes, and it will be shipped by three companies with a tracking device so I can track it. it will take about 63 days to ship. After 3 months I will have to pay fees to keep it in MOROCCO based on what it is valued at. It is a 1995 Bailey Beachcomber 4 berth. Not sure how much they will charge me.

@baijad Hello did you ever get your caravan to Morocco and how much import tax/duties did you have to pay on the value? I want to bring my caravan to Morocco too and it's an old one also. I would love to know what your experience was of importing it and how much it cost you to keep it?

Nitzan Marinov
I would love to know about that too
