Hello,

I purchased a house in France in 2013 and have a temporary residence permit in France. I got the first permit several years ago and prolonged it several times. I'm a citizen of non EU country and for past 2 years I have been living permanently outside the EU. Now I would like to change my residence permanently to France and to bring my household goods. Can I import my household goods duty free to France? I know there's specific term to get duty free import: transfer of property to France should be done within 12 months from the date of transfer of residence. Does the fact of having temporary residence permit in France means that I already  transferred my residence? Thanks.

Hello,

You will get the most accurate information by asking the French Consulate. Best wishes with your move.

Any electrical goods, I would not bother bringing them with you. It's best to sell in your home country and buy new when you settle in France.

It depends on the value of the electrical good. I brought my Kitchen Aid, my large STABER washing machine and expensive juicer and used a converter.
