Hi, can I ask you a question?
Is it possible to import a right hand drive car to France? I found out some good deals for a used car at very cheap price so I suppose to buy used right hand drive cars for sale (carfromjapan.com/cheap-used-cars-for-sale-steering-right) from Japan. If anyone knows about it, please share your mind. Thank you.

Yes, of course, there are a lot of Brits here. I see them from time to time and have ridden in one. The Brits come over the Channel on the ferry all the time with their cars, so they can't forbid them....

yesss you must get it approved
COc, etc... through french system

I helped someone import a car from UK (personal véhicule over 4 years old)

we had to go to tax office

then get "controle technique"
technical car approval certificate

fill out forms, include personal documents (passport, lease agreement, ..)

and then went on line to get carte grise (french car registration papers)

but I am still waiting...quite a long process
and is mandatory if you stay in France

don't wait to do it...if you are past the deadline you will pay...otherwise, if it is your own personal vehicule and have had it for at least 6 months.... you will not have to pay any importing tax

avoir résidé au moins 12 mois dans un pays situé hors de l’Union européenne ;
avoir utilisé le véhicule à titre privé depuis au moins six mois avant le transfert de résidence ;

Good reply. Yes, you see them from time to time, the Brits bring them, and I have even ridden in one! Less adapted of course to the conditions but you take that risk.
