wiring funds to italian banks for school

My U. S. bank is giving me the third degree and resisting my request to transfer funds to italian banks for school and accommodations. School wants funds wire transferred or cash upon arrival. Why can't they just take a credit card and i could pay the additional credit card surcharge? Need suggestions to give to school for other methods if possible. Zelle only works in U. S.

Indeed, I use transferwise for inter-currently transactions. Very reliable service.

You need to change bank to a more international bank or they giving you hard time as the amount may be over $10k. I use Citibank and do it on own from the pc. Be aware that there will be a fee .
