Visa extension

Hello everyone,

I have two questions please.

1) I've got a tourist visa to Turkey, but it expires after 30 days. Is it possible to extend it while I'm in Turkey?
2) Do government departments in Turkey work during Eid holiday? If not, how long does their Eid holiday last?

Your answers are highly appreciated.
Thank you!

In Turkey they have an online system for extending your visa https://e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr/ (available in English and Arabic as well). You have to be in Turkey when you complete the online application and you have to have insurance for the period you want to extend for. The system will then send you an appointment date by email or phone but it varies depending on the city (may be a few days and may be a few months) however during this period you are considered legally residing in Turkey.
During Eid Government agencies do not work at all and also private sector companies.
I would recommend that you visit some residence companies and they will help you with latest rules and process. There is one right behind Aksaray mall called Fanar and they are one of the best in Istanbul.
