I got the MM2H Visa registration on 13.3.2018. I have checked the application status during the process and now it has been ab. one month in status Pending Committee Approval.
Does anyone know the meening on the status and how often the committee meetings are?

Gravitas

The committee meetings are twice a month.  The minimum time for approval from application is about 5 months. 8-11 months is not unheard of. But with the new government its hard to predict anything

Lehtju

Thank you Gravitas, it was stated in the registration that the approval will he granted within 90 working days from the date on registration.
Does the pending committee approval mean that the application has been verified and it complies with the requirements?

Gravitas

Well its Malaysia and Ramadan, Eid always cause delays. The addition of a change of government means everything came to a standstill on May 9th*.

I don't think the legend means the application has been verified. The committee does the verifying and then approving. So after a committee meeting more information may be requested.

A lot depends if the application was through an agent - if so it is usually straightforward as they don't submit incorrect applications.

Sometimes, applicants who do their own can misunderstand the requirements and, say, what proofs are acceptable. This leads to delays.

*nobody so far knows what the new government will decide about MM2H

Thank you Gravitas,
It,s just waiting
