A single mom with 3 y.o daughter is looking for flatmate together to search a flat in Skylight Tower at Minh Khai Street ( my sister is living nearby).
I'm living in Singapore and will be back in Hanoi in September to stay for 2 years or more. After 15 years not living in vietnam now I seem like not really a local with a daughter who cannot speak Vietnamese language.
Anyone want to join me or just want to say hi...

Hi! 😎
Good luck!

Maybe have this moved to HCMC forum, not Hanoi since the street address you gave is in HCMC??

Dear Nancy,

Finding a room or flat share is other option for you:

https://www.expat.com/en/housing/asia/v … share.html

There are several websites you can search:

http://www.hanoifullhouse.vn/apartments … trict.htmlhttps://tnhvietnam.xemzi.com/tw/hanoi/p … orm=Search

There are more renting information available in Vietnamese if you or your sister have Vietnamese friend to help.

It would be easier if you broaden your option (for example, not only Skylight in 125D Minh Khai street but other buildings nearby: Timescity, Hoa binh Green City, etc.)

Good luck Nancy.

Thank you all for passing by my topic. @Scriptshack : that is hanoi's address, my sister owns a flat there. I want to live there also because the security is quite ok for a reasonable rental price.

My apologies... Yes you are right, that street address is also in Hanoi.
You could also try some of the Facebook groups like 'Hanoi Housing' or 'Hanoi Massive'. Usual advice applies to apartments as well as houses when dealing with agents; be clear you only want to see property in a specific street or apartment building. Check any photographs are recent; photo's tend to be taken when the property is new/recently refurbished and can be several years old and not reflect the true condition of the property.
If you definitely want an apartment;
Security is a token gesture, apartments still get burgled and it is not the security mans problem and they have NO liability - despite what it says on the shiny leaflet.
Make sure you electricity price is set in the tenancy agreement (this can vary from 3,500 VND per unit to over 5,000 VND per unit) and make sure the apartment has it's own electricity meter. Under Vietnamese law, a landlord can NOT charge more for electricity than the providers normal price per unit (around 3,500 VND per unit) but they often charge more for electricity so they can lower the rental price and make the rental price more attractive.
Also, make sure you have a clause in your rental contract that allows you to move out without penalty if there is construction noise (the primary reason people move from apartments because construction noise from 5am until midnight is not funny when it goes on for weeks).
