Moving to Germany

Post new topic

Msakwizabs

Dear Everyone, I am Barnabas from Malawi. I live in Malawi and I am considering moving to Germany on a job seeker visa. Please advise me if this visa is really worthwhile. Will I really manage to find a job? I do not have knowledge of German language. Will I not just waste my money?

I am ready to take on any type of job in order to settle down. Please advise if there are other issues to consider before applying for the visa and finally travelling to Germany.

Yours,

Barnabas

One does not "move" with a job seekers visa. It is a temporary stay. And to even get such a visa one usually has to show they offer some needed skills. Not knowing German will limit you of course - and if you succeed to make it to Germany be prepared to learn the language. But only you can answer if it is a waste of time. One can research in the internet and see what kind of jobs one would be suitable for. It will depend on education and experience, attitude and aptitude. The fields where one has a chance are usually in IT, high level sciences and engineering.

Not knowing German will of course make the job search far more difficult.
And “any kind of job” will not work - you need something that sets you apart from and makes you more attractive to an employer than the locals - this is usually education or work experience.
