Changing fiancee visa to spouse visa

Has anyone ever got married in their home country due to long waiting time of fiancee visa?did you contact UDI to change the status if the application or did you cancel and drop a new spouse visa with another fee at the embassy?

Once you submit a new application of visa, the previous one that is still in queue is automatically terminated
