Tax refund for expat

Post new topic

Bernardmarinas02

Im an expat here in malaysia, i have completed 182 days of stay here and i have also paid 28 percent of my salary within six months.
My question is how much refund can i get if my salary is 5000 RM?
Thanks..

Gravitas

Is your 182 days in Tax Year 2018?  If so you can get a refund of the difference between the Non-resident tax rate of 28% and the Resident tax rate.

To check your annual tax liability for 2018 (annual salary minus  RM9k tax-free allowance) you can see what you are expected to pay here https://www.pwc.com/my/en/publications/ … oklet.html

I am sam situation with him. I am here Nov 2018 and still working here with same company. I just finished my 182 days this July.
Can I refund my tax for 2018 now?
How can I file or refund it?
Should I go to Hasil office and refund by myself?
What are documents needed?
How long will it take to refund 2018 tax?
