Hello

I am the director of a Belgium company !
I am employing someone from india
I have got the work permit for him and have sent accross the hard copy to him
He is now going to apply for the d visa
My question is regarding the PCC
His PCC has been issued by the local police station in mumbai
Does it need to be apostile from the MEA ?
If yes then what is the procedure to get this done

Also does it first have to be apostilled by the state authority ?
If yes how can this be done ?

aneesh

Yes it needs apostille. There are many agents in all Indian cities who can do this, or one can get this directly from the concerned offices. VFS also has this service for certain states. They will tell you if state attestation is needed before MEA apostille.

BTW, as per new regulations PCC is issued by passport seva kendras (https://portal2.passportindia.gov.in/Ap … cOnlineApp). I am not sure if PCCs issued by local police station is still accepted. You may consult VFS for more info on this.
