Hi,

I am an Indian. Recently i have got my MDEC but the issue is i got the MDEC with old passport number. After my process started with the Malaysia company. I have renewed my passport to change the address. I really don't know, this will cause a major problem. Here comes the issue, the Vfs global in India is asking the MDEC letter with the new passport number. Could you please help me, again how many days will it take to get the updated MDEC and how much it costs. As i already hold the approval, will the updation also takes much time?

Thank you.

Gravitas

You need to contact your HR to explain and request reissue of the VAL. Immigration doesn't charge a lot. I think its only about rm220. Timewise will depend on traffic. Obviously you will need to provide copy of new passport details.

Thank you for your reply, that's really very helpful. Could you please tell me, Will it take approximately one month to get Mdec Approval letter?

Gravitas

Should not take that long as its only change of details and not the approval process restarted.

Thanks for your quick reply and sorry for asking you the same information again, how much time will it take approximately. As I have to plan my things accordingly, Hope you understand my situation.

Ask your HR

Saimallik

If I m getting proper response from my HR, i wouldn't have post the questions here, right. Anyways thanks for support so far.

The answer is (as always) nobody knows exactly how long immigration will take. It's guesswork to some degree and always dependent on the processing volumes at the moment. Reissuing a VAL is not particularly common and its normally when the collection point for the VDR has to be changed. I would allow about 7 working days. This was the time scale reported here on the forum for a reissued VAL.

Thanks for the new reply.
