Hello my name is Peter & I'm from the USA. I love making wood sculptures. So if there are any good places in KL or its surrounding areas that I can get access to a shop, tools,& local artists that would be great.

I moved here to be with my wife who is Chinese Malaysian & raise our 1st child. He is due by the end of this month. We will most likely only be here for the next 6-12 months before we restart our careers. Since this is our 1st we would like to look into part time nanny's/maids to help us. Any good recommendations?

Also since I've got extra time I really want to learn Cantonese so I can speak with my wife's family in there native tongue. Are there any good teachers here by chance?

Last I want to get myself in the best shape I can so I've hired a personal trainer & if any of you want to join or just want a workout buddy please feel free to message me.

Thank you & happy new year!

Im looking for wood carving tools, all I find are the horrible china-made cheap little tools. I cant even find a good whittling knife. I also need some lessons in technique, like for carving forks and spoons. Im interested more in practical objects more than art. For art, as an example, ive saved coins from my travels and more than 10 pounds of various country coins which I want to melt and cast into an object ive designed.

Meantime, welcome to Malaysia and good luck that the birth goes well!

Have you checked ace hardware? They seem to have some.... USA made tools. I'll be going back to the states in April for a few weeks. Do if there's anything special you still need & can't find that's a small hand tool let me know & I'll bring it back with me.
