Hi, I’m a British citizen married to a Filipina.  I arrived in Butuan on Sept 4th 2018 with the intention of staying for 6 months.  Initially I arrived visa free for 30 days, toward the end of that 30 days I went to the BI office in Butuan on Sept 22nd and extended my stay for further 29 days then on Oct 22nd I returned to the BI office to extend for a further 2 months.  At this time my extension fee included 1000 peso for Alien Certificate registration plus 2719.5 peso for ACR card fee plus 500 peso ACR card express lane fee.  I have since extended again for another 2 months (this was done on Dec 19th.).  As yet I have heard nothing about the ACR card I have paid for.....I am confused ! Will it arrive?  Do I need to panic ?
Regards Mike Bingham

Hello Whitehall1212
I paid for my card, not express, and picked it up the next time I visited the BI office to extend my visa. I had forgotten about it by the but they told me to go to a particular counter and pick it up. Good luck.

Thank you Bruce.....I’ll try that  🙂

Relax, the ACR card is just another way to make an extra buck off foreigners. It is mostly useless (with a few exceptions). It is not unusual to take the BI a few months to get it ready. I think last time I waited 4 months. Express lane means nothing and is just a way to charge more money.

Must be an educated Aussie to know that :D

Thanks for the information...yes I’ll relax !!
With regard “express lane”.......on my last visit to the BI (Butuan) I asked about the regular lane and was told “sorry we don’t do that any more...it ceased last October”.

Thanks again

When you say, "When will it arrive", They don't send them out, you gotta go back and pick it up.

Don't worry sir, it will arrive, but u made a payment and just keep a copy of needed. Mostly the card as a tourist is pretty useless, but once u return to foreigner affair, the card will be available. Just relax and enjoy the beautiful time here.

Hello;

You will get very old if you wait for them, you must contact them and ask.  Do not make any payments for which no official receipt is offered.  They should have charged you all applicable fees when the card was applied for.

The Acr card, you can pick it up after a few month. Here in Cebu, some restaurants given discount, when you give the card whenyou pay the bill.

If you are 60 years old or older you get the old folks at home discounts.  Works on buses also.

just save your recept, and next time you extend ask about the card, it takes about  2 week to a month, but if you dont ask, you will never recieved, acr card is just another way the philippine  earn more money, only my bank ask for it when i open an account, FYI keep all receipts in a safe place

Acr ....  a way to make a few more pesos  on us ?.... well ....  not really .... its a valid ID so you can carry it instead of your passport when you are  going out .... ad if you want tis o open a bank account .... you need this plastic thing ... no Acr ...no bank account  ........ and I agree with Ken ... keep all official receipts in a safe place ... scan them all.... keep copy on any cloud ....

have to disagree with you,a philippine driver license is a valid id, only foreigners have acr cards, so 99.9% of filipina businesses don't know about acr cards
