Hello,

I am from India, currently working in Germany and a blue card holder.

My wife is in India and she has a valid Schengen Visa and she is planning for a vacation in Schengen area during February 2019.

But my wife has an appointment for family re-union visa in German Embassy at the end of January 2019. So my queries are:

Will there be in any problem in applying for a family re-union visa as she already has a valid Schengen Visa?
Will she allowed to travel on Schengen visa during the process/after applying family re-union visa?

It will be great if someone has experience about this situation can share their case.

No, as they are separate visa categories and meant for different purposes.

During the processing: Yes, of course.
Afterwards there is no need any more for a Schengen (tourist) visa, because she is resident in Germany.
