Sorry but the amount of money she is asking for is  way more than needed

DonRam

🏃‍♀️ run as fast as you can. You found a gold digger!   She us not the traditional shy filipina. Shee probaly got brainwashed by the western feminist ladies .

Most traditional Filipinas don't wear makeup.

Go find a single province lady.

Not separated mind you because there is no divorce but anuln

Unfortunately most Expats are considered commodities.  Why would a 20 year old be interested in a 60 year old expat? Quid Pro Quo.

Love at first sight, Her/Money, Expat/Showers

A perfect storm:

Filipina, down on the farm, barefoot and ignorant.

Expat, going through male menopause.

Sometime later:

Filipina, down on the farm, barefoot and pregnant.

Expat, in his home country, searching Grind'r Find'r for his next girlfriend.

DonRam

I don't know where the guys are finding the bad Filipinas.  If in Manila or big cities.  Angles city bar girls

There are ladies older who are good.

My lady is 32 years old.  Still humble and simple.

Just don't be so quick if you meet one and she says I love you.     Get to know her. And family too.  They are a package.

Good luck

You need to listen to those that have been here a long time and know the drill, most Filipinos live on 2 or 3 hundred bucks a month,,,,,, many far less and survive. Which head are you thinking with?

I learnt a very easy word many years ago, a universal word "NO" not difficult to say and you will see where the colors lay. A relationship should never be about money but two people that think they are in love and not what one can get out of the other be it sex or money....... Cheaper to visit girly bars and bring a raincoat.

Love and lust are very different scenarios.

As for money while you say you can afford? I can buy a Ferrari but to me that's frivolous and many times ego driven which can be the norm here but I have bucks because I don't waste them. Think with your brain and listen to what members say as most have been around the block many times.

Good luck.

Cheers, Steve.

Enzyte Bob

It's amazing,

Some Expats come to the Philippines thinking it is cheaper, it's a tropical wonderland or what have you.

So why don't Expats come to the Philippines with their Expat Wives?

Well Bob, perhaps I can answer your question from a British point of view. Most couples in this country if they retire abroad seem to look for a location in Europe, so still within a couple of hours flight of family and friends in their home country. If one of the couple has family or roots in somewhere further away, then maybe they would move there. There is a popular day time TV show (Life In The Sun) shown on British TV, where the presenter seeks out a suitable house for couples that wish to retire abroad and tailor makes it to their preferences including requirements for the property, location, distance from shops, bars, etc. Most couples seem to prefer Spain, France, Portugal and the usual European hot spots.  Outside of Europe there are a few couples who wish to move to Australia, USA and Barbados but never seen any episode where somebody wants to move to SE Asia. These couples all seem to have enough cash and are not always looking for somewhere with a cheaper cost of living, just sand sea and a lively community.

Now divorced fat, bald single men - Well that is a different story but we do not currently have a TV show airing called Life In The Sun for a fat, bald lonely guy with a big belly who can still get it up.

You are dating with a high class hooker. The only difference being is that she is an 'in house' hooker

Wives have a little hooker traits, they learn to ask for things after "that" shower or aerobics.

It's "hard" to say no.

bigpearl

@pva74

You as said should listen and learn from those that know, been there etc.

Your 1,000 bucks a month I assume is US or P58K per month.

For us we have a 5 bed 5 bath home on the beach, we run a car and 2 motorbikes, a live in caretaker and eat extremely well, I drink like a fish and smoke like a burning tyre, feed 2 large Labrador's, all services etc. etc. and our monthlies are P100K or US 1,730 per month......... walk away mate, some one is taking the piss.

Our lead masons here through construction were paid P700 per day or P21K per month and ran their home and kids etc.

Run don't walk.

@Cherryann01

Yep even from Australia 15/20 years ago I intended to retire in southern Europe, Spain, France but probably would have been Italy.

I was working here some 14 years ago and loved the country and people, met my now partner back then and the rest is history, don't worry the better half well knows the simple word "NO" Now Europe is for holidays.

BTW Cherry I am not fat or balding but was single back then.

Cheers, Steve.

I will tell you one good reason to move to the Philippines for a single retired guy that I have not heard anybody else mention.

I went round to see my dad today, he is 90 and lives alone, unfortunately his wife/my mother passed just over 3 years ago. My brother and I see him a couple of times a week, take him out for a meal sometimes but mostly he is alone. He does attend a local charity coffee morning and they take him and the rest of the men who attend to the pub fortnightly.  When I visit him, because he does not get out much and when he does is in the company of elderly people, most of the talk is about who died recently or who is struggling with health or mobility issue, etc. On occasion this does depress me and I think if you can, why would you not want to surround yourself with younger, more active, vibrant and healthy people who have a more positive outlook on life and still have goals and ambitions.

Therefore finding a younger partner in the Philippines where English is widely spoken seems like a good idea to me.

bigpearl

So Cherryann why aren't you living here? sure I understand the time you put in with your father and I'm sure he appreciates,,,,, but.

How long are you going to hang around in the UK for the inevitable life goes on. Moving is easy once you move past the hurdles and insecurities and your friends and family will understand your choice. Thank the gods for the internet and messenger or WhatsApp, works very well for me and my family/friends in Australia.

Younger/more attractive means little unless you grasp the country and all that goes with it, pros and cons.

For me and years of planning was the best thing for my life and not looked back. Only forward.

Cheers, Steve.

Simple answer - Money. Retirement for me is at age 67 and I have just turned 62 so no pensions yet apart from a small military pension which kicked in at age 60. If was able I would probably be there by now.

One thing I will say without going into details about previous relationships is, unlike most I never went looking for a Filipina in the first place. I had only just been persuaded to join Facebook after a trip to Holland to see old friends from my Air Force Days a few months before I received a friend request from a Filipina. At first she was just like a pen friend until she said I want to see you. I like travel so thought why not so I went to meet her. The relationship did not work out but I was kinda hooked on Filipina women.

Not ideal timing for me with 5 years left until retirement but circumstances and a chance message request led me down that path. I want to do it right, knowing that I have a regular income each month.

Online dating is just a good way to get used or conned.  First find one that's college educated and has adult children or none at all, of possible. Someone independent and to proud to take your money.  If she has her own place and can manage on her own. I'd just go to the mall or a restaurant where you can observe them and see who and what they really are.  I was lucky. my wife truly loves me and I know because I'm not rich or retired and I work for pesos just like she does.   Then you need to check out her family because they might try and give you some pity story or borrow money they'll never repay.  Again I was lucky. You shouldn't have to open your wallet fir love or respect.  I did meet my wife on-line but I took the time to study her behavior and watch for red flags.  There is just one draw back her 21 year old son is the most worthless lazy human I've ever seen. You can't have it all.

Too many scammers on all those sites. Not watched closely. A person a spoke with 6 yrs ago told me his story about meeting the women he married, met on FB. Well 1.5 yrs later after marriage in Fairbanks AK she divorced and tried to take his home and land and cash. He lost alot but not the house, she turned physco on him with lies, just a warning.

May i reccomend Christian Filippina my money well spent with them, for monitoring, they monitor your messages, facetime if done through their site. Which i suggest you do, scammers always want to get you away from protected sites. Some of these girls are really good at the con game and usually have others in the background supporting them in the scam.

Just open an account in Pina Love watch how many visitors you get, with no pic, none or very lttle description. Scammers.....

Have you checked out Cherry Blossoms dating site?

Lots of wholesome ’Honey I’m Home’ types on there 😃

I was just putting out my opinion on those sites.

- birthday of mother

- phone data

- new phone

- makeup

- clinical surgery

- .... need to buy home

they feel guilty, if you can't others offer that !!

There is an intro from a song currently being played on UK TV as part of an advert at each commercial break on a certain TV Channel before the film resumes which seems to sum everything up well - George Harrison's version of "I Got My Mind Set On You".

I got my mind set on you

I got my mind set on you

I got my mind set on you

I got my mind set on you

But it's gonna take money

a whole lot of spending money

it's gonna take plenty of money

to do it right, child

Seems rather appropriate but I would add that there are honest, hard working and proud Filipinas out there that will not ask for money or will only ask in an emergency.

bigpearl

You can only be scammed, 1/ when you're thinking with the wrong head 2/ if you are gullible 3/ don't know the simple word NO, sorry. 4/ give it plenty of time, a year or 3 and meet in person many times.

I don't think you can blame the dating sites for some of the riff raff that get on them, they simply supply a service and hopefully make money with membership.

OMO.

Cheers, Steve.

kristopherryanwatson

@zenavision

good story.  I met several genuine woman on those sites. the majority of them are genuine with high integrity, and the ones i communicated with for weeks never have they ever asked me for any money.  unfortunately it  didn't' work out because i just didn't click with many of them.

if you are observant of their behavior and character from the beginning, and are vigilant to ask the clever questions when first getting to know them, you most certainly will not fall into any trap of giving them money.

It also helps to filter woman out in your search who do not have any formal education, at present do not work, and don't have stable family life.  not a bad idea 1f609.svg

Glongshore

@kristopherryanwatson

while yes, some of those points are valid, it needs to be noted that all humans do not fit into the same shoe box.

my experience may be a rarety, but my wife is all of the things you mention. lack of education, no job, no experience outside of the very rural provincial farm life she was born into. also with 2 kids who the dads never acknowledged.

using your metrics, should be red flags pasted all over her. but…she is the sweetest, kindest, most unselfish, loyal, financially frugal, and lovingest partner i could ever have dreamed of.

so despite the genre of this thread, not every pinay is out to strip you of whatever is in the bank account. im sure there are plenty who are doing exactly that, but with just a little bit of trust and faith in the goodness of the filipino people, finding the right match is really not all that hard.

going into the search with a list of boxes to tick off, pro vs con, and weighing them against your imagined perfect partner will give you a place to start. crossing someone off the list because they have no formal education is doing them, and you, a disservice which might eliminate the one true person who could have made your life a blissful adventure.

i told myself that i would be adaptable and be willing to bend a bit in regards to the tick boxes. and lucky for me that i did because the grass is most definitely greener on this side of the fence.
