Royal Canin is the best available brand although I find some others offer comparable ingredients at lower prices

For anyone else with fussy pups: I also contacted Dr. BOB (Thanks @planner). He sells hypoallergenic brands.
It is reassuring to know that I can buy reputable brands.  Two dogs with upset tummies or allergies would not be fun....

Dos & cats over many, many generation have lost much of their natural needs. As carnivores the needs are meat & the ugly parts, The offal, the internal organs & intestinal contents. For thousands o years it has provided the essential needs. Now, in our lives it is no longer possible to provide this ancient diet.  Therfore, you must know what you are feeding your animals. Adding various things to their diet adds immeasuribly to thee health.  It ain't easy & not always cheap.  Gereations of breeding & cross breeding has given us animals with many problems that never had to exist.  All animals have a purpose & when we subvert them we are the sinners.  Like it or not, we have created creatures who suffer to fullfil our desires.  We alter their function to be cute little things or to be vicious protectors.  We have screwed up.  Yeah, back to topic. I have raised dogs using Purina products with supplements. I doubt that anyone will care about more than their pets. By the way, I like cats also, had Maine Coons, great cats.
