Hello everyone,

Keeping fit during your time in Kuwait is of utmost importance. How about sharing with us and your fellow expats how you keep healthy in your host country?

What are your daily health hacks in Kuwait?

Do you exercise regularly? What is your go-to sport?

Do you manage to keep your diet healthy and balanced? How easy is it to maintain a balanced diet in Kuwait? Are you able to find organic products easily?

Are there national or local incentives to foster a healthy lifestyle: sensitisation campaigns, sports infrastructure etc. ?

How much of your monthly budget is dedicated to keeping fit?

Please share your experience,

Priscilla

i work 12 hrs/6 days a week a day, rotating day shift and night shift, so not alot of free time.but here's how i manage.

1) If your not on your feet all day skip the big lunch settle for salad/ something light, Will help keep your metabolism up. ( makes a huge difference but requires some discipline)

2) I used to plan my work outs, now i just subscribe to different "Athlean-X" programs.
30 min a day , no thought, just get into any average apartment building gym, follow the routine, and your done. Some programs even include day-by-day meal plan. So no guess work. It helps if you know it ends in 60-90 day as a goal to complete.

3) As far as budget: lifting belt, jump rope, resistance bands, yoga mat, foam roller. Some basics if your looking to get into a daily routine. Less than 40 KD for all that.

4) Cant speak on organic food as i don't buy the hype, If the veggies are fresh i buy em. I don't have time to hunt down luxury veggies.

5) Don't eat 2 hours before bed , If your really that hungry have a protein shake, or a fruit smoothie( not an ice cream mixed with fruit milk shake)

6) Always take your rest days, I even take days where i go to the gym specifically to stretch for 45 min and that's my work out for the day. Helps fight of the stiffness, keeps joints limber, and increases blood circulation. Hell just stretch every morning for that matter its good for your body.

7) Of course im a relatively healthy individual, obviously if you have previous injuries or health issues consult your physician before starting any kind of work out regiment.

I do not have much time in the week days for working out but there is that very nice app called mapmyfitness by under armor that lets you know the best route in the street or by the sea which is near to your location
and you decide how long this route it, your options might be from 1.5 KM till 20 KM and you decide.
it is very good and it helps a lot to get a near short route for a daily practice

Unlike what many people think ,there is too much activity ongoing here in Kuwait..there are very active communities and events are organized everywhere you just need to know where to look. Here are few insights :
1. WEARELIMITLESS Community, can be found on Instagram.  They arrange free sessions, organize runs, bike tours for all levels from beginner to elites
2. Q8RUN same as above but for running only
3. FIT Q8 Filipino international triathletes,  for triathlons, very active and require membership ,can be found on Instagram.
4. PRO VISION for sports events . They have an app for smartphones,  organizing events every weekend all year long , obstacle races, duathlon, triathlon, aquathlon, marathon, for kids, adults and athletes
5. P5M app is very powerful ,it gathers most of the sports establishments in q8, where you can choose the workout you want, coach, venue, time, and even offer you coupons and reduced prices
6. Elite swim academy and Poseidon swim academy
7. Horse back riding in murooj
8. Shooting range near murooj
9. Football pitches everywhere , you can choose and book through an app called ملاعب
And many more
