Places in Thailand for an unforgettable holiday....

Hello and Sawasdee Khrap,

In my 16 years of living in LOS, I somehow never made it to Krabi, often read about it and finally went there last October, together with my wife. All in all, a fantastic holiday!!! Not cheap, but good.

We booked all online, had a nice resort right at the beach on Ko Lanta, which belongs to Krabi province. Breakfast right at one of the most beautiful beaches Thailand has to offer was a great experience.

We flew from Isaan ( Sisaket) to Ubon Ratchathani, then to Bangkok, after 2 hours to Krabi where we had to take a ferry to get to Ko Lanta, a really nice place to holiday. The breakfast at the beach was fantastic, always with plenty of fresh fruits of the season. Don't rent a motorbike when you'd never driven one before, the roads can be very dangerous.

We had a bike to get around and drove around the island a couple of times. The ferry from Krabi to Ko Lanta starts in the morning at 6 am and the last one goes at 6 pm. Resorts are countless, some great restaurants do the rest. The worst ones were foreigners with strange food, the Greece restaurant wasn't just expensive, I don't think that my Husky would eat such stuff.

You can make a great tour by boat/ferry from Ko Lanta, drive to Phuket with the ferry and fly back home from there. Plenty of places for sightseeing, snorkelling and more.

If you're in Bangkok and want to spend less money, there's a nice place in Prachuap Khiri Khan province called Bankrut, sometimes also spelt Bankrud. It belongs to Bangsaphan and the train from Bangkok even stops there!

The best time to go there is from Monday to Friday, it can be crowded on weekends when Bangkokians go there to relax from the big city life/dust.

Endless beaches, white sand, trillions of coconut trees, various bungalows with fan, or air and some nice people make your holiday to a great one.

It's easy to rent a bike ( please make sure that you've got a license and insurance!!) and ride around the beach. Seafood is affordable and you can even go fishing squid with the fishermen and BBQ them right afterwards. A cold Leo will help you to digest the first class food.

Please feel free to write a short report about a place that's worth to visit. Thanks a lot, Khop Khun maak, khrap!

Book your flight at a time that you can still catch the last ferry to Ko Lanta at 6 pm, otherwise, you'll have to stay a night in Krabi.

Resorts are countless, some great restaurants do the rest. The worst ones were foreigners with strange food, the "Farang Food" restaurant wasn't just expensive, I don't think that my Husky would eat such stuff.  The Italian makes a great pizza, but it's well overpriced. There are many other places where you can get great food, no need to spend a fortune for something you can eat in your country of origin for a lot less.
