Taxes for American Expats

After 9 years as an American expat in Amsterdam, I've never found a firm that can handle both my Dutch and my American taxes. I'm under the impression that I need to file my Dutch taxes first, then my American taxes, which I've done. Is this really necessary? And is there a firm that can handle my taxes for both countries?

Hi and welcome to the Forum and a belated welcome to the Netherlands.

At the top of this page is a link to our services section, within which is our business directory; if you have a quick look through there, we have a lot of tax advisers advertising their services; to save you looking, here's a link that will take you straight there.

Whether they are good, bad or indifferent at dealing with both US and NL matters, I have no idea, but you can ask.  Perhaps if you find one, you can leave some feedback so we can better advise the next Expat who asks.

Hope this helps.
