Hello,

I am looking for answers from people who have had relocation paid,or perhaps know someone who has and has first hand info.

How does relocation work for some of the bigger companies ? I know they pay flights and put you in a company apartment but many offer a "relocation allowance" too.

Does anyone have experiences of actual financial figures involved ?

This really depends on the company you will be working for.

Some companies will pay flights and give you a company apartment for 1 - 2 months.

Other companies will add some living allowance on top until your first paycheck, a friend of mine was offered a lot with his relocation package in terms of perks, he got meals out paid for, transport to and from work. However, they were headhunting him it wasn't something he applied for.

You would be better off asking the company directly what they can offer for the relocation package.

Costing this is very subjective, however, an easy way to negotiate this is to request for an additional salary on top of the first one for relocation. I made this suggestion to my employer and they seemingly had no issue with it.
