As far as I know, the form needs to be attested.  However, Bahrain is a signatory to the Hague convention, so theoretically apostille should also work.

khalidkhanblog

We did for a Nepalese client moving to Australia and they accepted her fingerprints notarized and apostilled in Nepal but can't say with 100% certainty for you anything because procedures can change anytime. However I believe the right person can get it done with hiccups.

XTang

Yes that is correct - procedures can change without warning or announcement.

As far as Apostille is concerned, in the majority of the cases, it does work but then again, as an example, LMRA habitually refuse Apostilled documents in the visa process and still ask you to get your documents attested from MOFA Bahrain.  When you go to MOFA Bahrain, they always get upset by this as they know that Apostille should be accepted.  In the end MOFA stamp your apostilled documents and charge you 10 BD per document, all the while, blaming LMRA for not knowing this - so you get your work done but it wastes time and money for you.  But it still continues to happen despite so many cases like this going to MOFA - see the point?.

And that is the reason why, I always say that Apostille should work "theoretically" :).   You just never know what will happen tomorrow depending on the mood of the guy sitting at the counter.

Hey

Is it possible to get good conduct certificate without a valid residence permit? I want to get it for my wife-to-be in order to marry her. Her residence permit has expired. Will it create a problem for her if we go to the cid office? She is on a dependent visa sponsored by Ministry of Defence. Her dad works in the defense force with a valid RP but they are not willing to renew her RP

Thank you

XTang

You need to show the first and last residence permit. Whether or not it is valid or expired.

Aamer21

I have her last RP but not sure about the first. Is it possible to get it with last RP - which btw has expired

XTang

Try your luck.  Depends on the officer sitting at the counter at that moment.

simon105

Thanks XTang. One more question, I was also recently told that only a registered lawyer could act as power of attorney. I had planned on using my old company PRO to do it for me. Do you know anything about this, or is it another case of who is sitting at the counter on the day?

XTang

You can give a POA to anyone.

simon105

Also do you know if CID prefer a paper apostille or an electronic apostille? And should I get the full set of documents apostilled or only the fingerprints?

XTang

Any document that didn't originate in Bahrain requires an Apostille i.e. fingerprints.  Residence permits / CPR copies are Bahrain documents and don't require Apostille.   Give a paper Apostille - no one is going to bother to go onto the internet to check an electronic one :).

Thread modified for legal matters in addition to contacts of Lawyers and PROs.

My Madam (Bahraini) need to get a Good Conduct Certificate for our C.R application. Is it possible for her to get it in Isa Town?

XTang

The location is now in Isa Town.   Read the first page of the post; I edited it to highlight it clearly.

Thankyou Xtang, and all for all the help, everything got done smoothly. https://ibb.co/zh8R0T3

Two things I want to add to the thread to

1.    Take with you a debit card along with you, If you have a card with you, you can pay it there and then at the counter. Because If you take cash with you, you have to deposit the cash in a kiosk and provide that receipt to the Customer representative handling your case, which takes much more time.

2.    If you have gaps in your stay within Bahrain, possibilities are you will end up paying more. I paid 2 BHD for my wife because while switching jobs I sent her back and she had a gap of more than 6 months.  ( so she will get two certificates, one the first term when she was in Bahrain, and other one for the recent term.

3.    Once you park the car in the parking go towards the Vehicle violation department (entrance near the mosque, once you enter take a left and keep walking till you see the vending machine, next to the vending machine is the gate of CID office ( See picture attached ). https://ibb.co/zh8R0T3

XTang

Thank you.  I added your updates to the main thread on page 1.

Hi. Is it true that you cannot obtain a Police Clearance Certificate without presenting a No Objection Certificate from your employer? Has anyone obtained a police clearance for US  Immigration purpose while still employed in Bahrain?

XTang

Don't know about your case but I have gotten PCC for many countries without employer NOC - even the US. But then again, rules change. So ask them directly for the latest information.

ReshArun

Hello Everyone,

Need your help with a question. I am trying to apply for Canada PR. To submit my application, I need to submit Bahrain PCC, where I worked for 11 months back in 2013. I called the Bahrain consulate in India and enquired, and they are saying that they will only give PCC for stay longer than 2 years. But canada rules states that they need PCC for all stays longer than 6 months.  I am really confused, can some one help me? What should I do now?

XTang

Get a confirmation from Bahrain authorities that they won't give PCC for less than 2 years stay and submit that to Canadian government - there is usually an allowance in all countries when genuine reasons are provided for not being able to source a PCC.

Mycahtok

Is police clearance and good conduct certificate are same? Thanks for your answer

XTang

1) Read carefully and don't be lazy.  The topic of THIS thread ITSELF STATES "Police clearance / good conduct".  This means it is THE SAME - for anyone who reads it carefully
2) Don't post on multiple threads especially when there is ALREADY a sticky for your question - show courtesy

chintsbilly

I went there today and I couldn't complete the process. Reason is passport size photograph.

After waiting for 3 hours when my turn came they refused to take my Blue background photograph.
They clearly told me that either white or grey background photograph is allowed.

I complained that on government's website, blue color is mentioned. In response, they said website content isn't updated. I must have white background photograph.

And worst thing was that I couldn't find any near by photo studio and came back to home with no progress at all. Now, I need to go after few days when I get leave in office.

XTang

That's a shame.  I have gotten the certificate 3 times.  And the last two times was with a blue background photo.  It seems like they are enforcing it now.   That's typical with Government offices - they decide on the regulations.   Will update the thread accordingly.  Thanks for the update.

Hi , If I leave my job by submitting resignation but not completing my notice period, will I be treated as absconding. Also If I give resignation and if employer does not accept can I leave Bahrain when only 28 days are left for visa to expire that means it is less than 30 days of my contract expiry. Will I be backlisted or will there be impact for work visa issuance in GCC countries. Thank you.

XTang

You have to serve notice period.  If they don't accept resignation, you need to follow the process as listed above in thread i.e. send resignation via registered post.  From the day the visa expires, you have 30 days to leave the country so don't use the expiry to leave without serving notice period.

aarti_ghule

Hi , Thanks for your reply.
I m trying to know. refer below url,

LMRA url for employers to report absence from work

In the LMRA url , under special conditions it is clearly mentioned for a employer or report abscence from work , the work visa should be valid for a minimum of 30 days.
My work visa is valid only for 28 days. Also I will be resigning tomorrow. I will be sending resignation on mail, handover my laptop and drawer keys to my boss. Only I will not serve the notice period, I will instantly resign and go. Will in this situation since my work visa is only valid for 28 days , still my employer can blacklist me . Also will there be also impact in getting entry or work visa in UAE or any GCC country as I m having a new job there and in 3 days I will join there. Thanks

XTang

Look, there is a lot that unscrupulous employers can do.   I have seen some register cases of theft against employees who left like you did - this makes an absconding case much easier irrespective of work visa validity.  And unfortunately, the circumstances of the departure make it easier.  I can't predict what your employer will or won't do, which is why, my advice is always to have an amicable parting.  Or at the very least, document and register your resignation with LMRA and MOL so that there is an official record that you tried to leave and they were stopping you.

Generally speaking, if you leave even with an absconding case, you won't have problems in other GCC countries even though you won't be able to come to Bahrain again.  However, if a police case is filed against you and a warrant issued, all GCC countries will cooperate with Bahrain.

Atidlam

Hi, I have a friend of mine who’s been deported in Bahrain for theft and run away. They filed a run away case to her even after she transfer to another company. Until when is the deportation last for these cases or what she needs to do to come back to Bahrain since she’s working in Qatar now.

XTang

Deportation for theft cases?   this is a criminal offence and it is usually a permanent ban.  Get a lawyer - there is nothing she (or you) can do herself in this situation.

Atidlam

Thank you XTang

Hi Xtang,

I am a new member here. You have very useful posts.

I want to ask you - How do we check if a resident of Bahrain has a travel ban? Is the result in this website accurate at the time of enquiry? - https://services.bahrain.bh/wps/portal

Thanks in advance.

XTang

Well the site is generally accurate but:

1) Not all bans appear there e.g. immigration bans don't
2) It take a while for the ban to reflect so it is not real time

GuestPoster289

What do you mean by immigration ban? Isn't it the same? - Preventing you to leave Bahrain due to some court case? I did send you a personal message. I hope you could reply. Thanks for replying to my thread.

XTang

No it is not the same.  The portal shows ban for court cases ONLY.  Immigration ban can be due to many reasons e.g. security, overstay etc.

The only way you can confirm whether you have a ban or not is to go to immigration and ask them to check for you.  Don't rely on the portal only - as it can take a while to update.

GuestPoster289

Got it Xtang! Thanks so much!

I just want to know if this certificate comes with a validity?

XTang
