Beware of scammers - Fake job offers from Turkey

Post new topic

Yoginee

Hello femlad35,

Welcome to expat.com!

If so many people have received the same offer, I'm afraid yours too might be a scam.

Also, if you made no such application, you should know that the job being offered is a scam.

However, in line with Turkish expatriate statuary law, you will incur the initial cost (refundable) for the processing of the foreigner certificate (FWC), after which we will sponsor/process your work permits, flight tickets, and other traveling documents.

Might be a scam? It's very obviously a scam

Borraro

OK i see that nobody reads previous warnings and clarifications.

Yet, why dont you make a little research if you intend to work in Turkey? There is no such law, there is no such certificate. There is even a typing mistake, it should have been "statutory" instead of "statuary", it is funny.

Fred

OK i see that nobody reads previous warnings and clarifications.
-@Borraro

Which is why the scammers make a fortune.

Without being too unkind (OK, I am being very unkind) the people who fall for such easy to bust scams are stupid. These companies are busted all over the internet (including here), but greed takes over from brains so they send the cash anyway.

Borraro

It is the fact, not being unkind. The courage of ignorance brings greed taking over from brains (if any) and this brings an extreme self-confidence. I feel pity and mercy agaist those, because they were born stupid.

WHERE WORDS FAIL

Fred

WHERE WORDS FAIL
-@Borraro

The words you have might well fail to describe he utter, unadulterated stupidity exhibited by people who ignore the multitute of warnings posted on theis thread, but it might well also refer to the words ignored by the foolish in favour of greed.

Of course any and all jobs that ask for fees are scams, and bloody obvious ones at that, but it won't take more than a post or two before some dumbo asks the same question again.

I'm off to buy a nice computer withh a VPN and set up a fake payment job agency - I'll post the fact I'm doing so here with complete confidence some arses will go for it anyway.

Borraro

yeah, i m also sick of personal messages asking scam or not, we better monetise..

Mickael

Hello all and thank you for your message.

@vangesikwale yes it's a typical message from a scam.

Don't hesitate to check online, there are some websites that gather scams of this kind.

My advice, if you don't know just do a little research.

Have a nice day,

Mickael

-@Mickael

My advice is simple- If they ask for money, it's a scam.

No research required.

Borraro

sometimes, when they ask for money, it is too late. they first mention abt so-called FWC, later they mention abt so-called Turkish expatriate statuary (statutory) law, meanwhile all private information has already been shared.

Loretta 92

@infoaboutTurkey Is Alwaleed group legit ?

Loretta 92

@infoaboutTurkey Got a job offer from Alwaleed group,  is it legit ?

ArjeRose

Hi there, I am new on this site. I am feeling a little surprised and more so concerned at some of these threads. Is this site a trustworthy one to look for jobs in Turkey that involve English speaking? In other words, do employers value and trust this site to post their job advertisements?

Seems like it is not so far?

Borraro

what if alwaleed group is legit? how can we know that you got job offer from real one or a pretending one? you should learn how to distinguish the difference.

Fred

@infoaboutTurkey Is Alwaleed group legit ?

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cdw057

I said this in other threads, if you are good employers should pay for all (even plane tickets and hotel). If you are asked for any money my conclusion is simple (SCAM).

I think Turkey is clamping down on criminal activities (this is good)

Report these companies who ask for money please.

Borraro

You miss the point. There are no companies to be complained. Swindlers are not Turkey/Turkish oriented.

Still, below links may work to have fake sites shut down, I didnot make a deep search.

https://icpen.org/

Yet, scammers are using legit company names sometimes, sending e-mail thru lookalike accounts/domains where recipients have to comprehend tricks by themselves.

This is a last email from AlWaleed Group:

Only 99% - Hmmmmm

Borraro

It starts by "the last e-mail from ..." which means there are previous ones. This is what I was trying to warn people about. Being asked for money to find out it is fraud, is too late. All privacy has already gone.

Private schools live or die on advertising - Red flag if they have no web footprint.

If they ask for cash, it's a scam
