Are medications such as anti hypertensive, metformin, and stain-based drugs generally available at pharmacies without a prescription form a local MD? Are they available with a prescription?

Metformin and its analogs are available with a prescription. Not without.

As for the other two, not sure what exactly you mean.

You can check on https://zdrave.framar.bg/%D1%82%D1%8A%D … n?s=apteka

It's in Bulgarian, but in the search you can write the name of the drug in English and as long as it is not a brand name but the actual name of the drug, it will usually show up if it is available. Then, when you click on an option, above the name it will have the path... if the path includes "с ресепта" it is with prescription.

Thanks for the reply. I didnt see the typo earlier and that would make translating the name of a drug even harder:  statin-based medication, like lipitor. I will check the list you provided.
