hello
i have just joined this site and wondering if anyone can help me and my husband and 2 of our children ages 7 and 14 and 4 dogs are traveling over from England to Veliko Tarnovo in July this year and was wondering what the best route was and if any one can give us any tips of where to stay with the dogs overnight on the drive through as my husband will be doing all driving also is there regular rest stops on way

I used booking.com and used pet friendly hotels
Travelled with 2 dogs no problems.
Stopped in Germany first night
Hungary second night
Romania third night all hotels were very good and Hungary and Romania very cheap.
I used google maps to plan the route and allowed for 10 hours driving per day because I was travelling alone.
Important to note that your dogs will need their pet passport and if you are travelling through Serbia you will need a international driving licence.
Prior to travelling heard a lot of bad things about Serbia and in particular their police but I had no issues but did not stop overnight.

Nice to read people make this road trip comfortably with pet friendly hotels.
10 hours driving per day is some going.
How many days do you recommend sparing for this road trip Nigel?
