Importing a staffordshire

Post new topic

Jamienicole

Hello! I am wanting to relocate from Canada to Thailand with my dog. She is a Staffordshire bull terrier but smaller than most. 20lbs. I know it’s a restricted breed but if I list her as a mix breed would it be possible to import her?
Thanks!

Chalanda

Honestly? I would think there is more chance of giving her an anesthetic and say she's a cuddly toy.

You would surely need a vet to lie for you to certify she was a mix breed ?

Jamienicole

The vet letter isn’t a problem! Just with her looking like a miniature “pit bull” I don’t know how much of an issue it would cause once there.

Chalanda

Don't blame me if you get nowhere but I was reading your reply when my BF called me and he says go to AOT he used a chat facility they have and they will find out for you

Jamienicole

Thank you! Appreciate it :)

Jamie! How did you get on?? I am a British citizen, living in the UK still but am considering a full time move to Spain next year and I have a Staffy! This subject is very close to my heart so am wondering what happened! Cath xx

Hi
There is no restrictions for a staffy we brought ours , Marley  she is also a pure breed from Dubai. There is no need for quarantine in thailand too.
It will be much easier to use a per relocation service so that you get all the docs and information required for both countries . In Thailand, Marley only needs to complete the importation forms ensure rabies jab is up todate. And of course pups flight ticket.
Hope this helps.

Did you manage to get you staffies into Thailand?
Adina in Thailand

@mancini1 I did. They put lab/Great Pyrenees mix on the pet passport.

Hello Adina in Thailand,

If you do mind, could you please share your experience with us?

Was the process long? And how difficult/easy it was? 1f914.svg

@Pimanmas Timms

I have no idea actually. I rescued him and don’t know. But no one checked anything.
