Temporary Residence Permit Rejection

Post new topic

Hi Friends,
Recently I received a rejection for my temporary residence permit on the grounds of insufficient funds though I had submitted the letter from my University which states that I have met their requirements. I don't understand why only mine was rejected when others had submitted the same documents and got approval. Unfortunately, only I received a call from UDI for verification while others did not. I don't know what is wrong with my application. I have appealed the rejection with even more sufficient documents to show financial stability. Will my appeal be considered? I have already booked my flights so is there any way to make the procedures faster with the UDI? Please provide your feedbacks as I'm very much in need of that.
Thanks in Advance.

You should call them up and check.  It might be because you miss a document etc.

Yeah I'm.. But they are saying it might even take upto 6months.. will they give consideration for students?

maybe you should check with the university and ask if they can help you.  I am sure you are not the first student that encounter such problem.

My University is saying they have no contacts in the UDI and I have to resolve the issue all by myself! 😢

That is so unfortunate.  Then you must call the UDI.  It might take a long time for them to pick up the call but there is no choice.

Make sure you have all the information ready so that they can help you to check why they think you have insufficient funds and ask how much is needed?  Ask them if you can fly over to Oslo and start the course while waiting for their processing.

Is it possible to travel to Oslo without the temporary residence permit? Do you have any idea about it?

It depends if your country has signed a visa free agreement with Norway.  For example, I am able to travel to Norway for 90 days without visa or temporary residency permit.
